Special Projects
I have been asked what is something you could do over and over without ever getting tired of it. I would say it would be to create humorous yet inspiring media, content, and art that makes people think differently about something with which they think they are familiar. My special projects range from talking about people's fears to educating people on nature and animals, to highlighting the beauty in the world. Please enjoy!
Getting Reel
One of the reasons I pursued my degree in Broadcast Journalism was to satisfy my passion for producing entertaining film. Creating reels has fueled my proclivity for film editing, motivating me to regularly curate two active Instagram feeds. Both highlight the day to day of my small farm @enidsflockfarm and up-and-coming chicken influencers Botl and Hattie @botlthemodelchicken.
Although it was never my intention, I now have two chickens that live inside my home as pets. Botl the Model Chicken and Hattie the House chicken inspired an Instagram account to help people get to know how intelligent, charming, and sentient poultry can actually be. The Instagram account boasts 3700+ followers and many of Botl's videos have had between 14k - 100k views since conception.
Vocal Variety
As a past stand-up comedian and improv actress, I have had multiple opportunities to showcase my performance skills in various media forms. Receiving a BA in Broadcast Journalism, I have always had a passion for radio and television. While a student, I was a radio DJ, photography editor for the school paper, and also produced segments for KSC-TV. Since then, I have had speaking roles in movies, commercials, and radio shows.
In 2019, I started a 5 episode podcast called Oddly Afraid, to talk about fear and different phobias. I stopped in 2020, as I figured there was enough focus on fears during the pandemic.
Most recently; I wrote, produced and did the voice over work for a campaign commercial about a local county commissioner candidate (see below).
